Howard Lighting's emergency ballasts are used for both emergency and normal applications.  These ballasts, when in emergency mode or during a power outage, operate the lamps for a minimum of 90 minutes.  These ballasts work with an AC ballast to convert existing or new fluorescent fixtures into emergency lighting.  All emergency ballast from Howard Lighting comply with all codes and standards, including UL924 and UL listed for Retrofit/ Field installation.  These ballast also feature a low voltage LED combo switch.

Howard Lighting's emergency ballast each includes and battery charger, battery pack, and inverter circuit. These ballast can be top-mounted on the fixture or in the fixture wiring compartment and can be used in both switched and unswitched fixtures. Each ballast is UL 924 Listed for damp location and UL listed for Retrofit/Field Installation.  These ballasts can be installed on the top, inside the fixture, or in the remote depending on certain conditions.

 

All the models in the emergency ballast line feature a long life, are maintenance free, and have a sealed nickel cadmium battery. The maximum battery recharge time is 24 hours.  These ballasts will operate 1 or 2 lamps in emergency mode for a minimum of 90 minutes.  These ballasts are compatible with 1, 2, 3, and 4 lamp fixtures; standard, slimline, dimming, rapid start, and electronic AC ballasts; and many different lamp types.  They also features a low voltage LED combo switch.  The lumen output vary from 500 to 3000.

 

These emergency ballast from Howard Lighting meet most state and local codes, NEC/OSHA, and Life safety NFPA 101.  They feature a test switch/ power indicator light, a solid-state charger circuit, and dual voltage input 120V/ 277 VAC, 60Hz.   Some models feature a time delay enhancement to overcome end-of-life circuit protection and AC output in emergency mode.
