Two-lamp linear fluorescent T8 ballasts control the amount of electricity powering a two-lamp linear fluorescent fixture. Without a linear fluorescent electronic lighting ballast to limit the voltage or current across the T8 lamps, either the tubes or the circuit will quickly fail. For commercial retrofits and installations, electronic T8 ballasts have become the preferred linear fluorescent lighting ballast technology, replacing the less-efficient magnet ballast in most applications. Two-lamp T8 electronic lighting ballasts also greatly reduce or eliminate harmonic distortion (lamp noise), flicker, or fluctuations in light output.
The T8 linear fluorescent lighting ballast is the most common type of 2-lamp ballast, offering a variety of ballast factor and wattage options to choose from. The 2-lamp T8 ballast is usually housed in the linear fluorescent fixture above or beside the lamps themselves. Choose from 120- or 277-Volt 2-lamp T8 ballasts in wattages from 13 to 42 watts.
The right 2-lamp electronic ballast protects the light sources from damage, and helps maintain consistently high-quality illumination throughout the life of the lamps.
